We are always looking for qualified individuals with training and experience that have a desire to help youth, preferably with prior formal training in counseling or education, law enforcement, social services, or youth corrections. If applying for Guide services you must have experience in either international or domestic travel. Retirees are strongly encouraged to apply. We are also looking for individuals who are multi-lingual and from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Minimum requirements to apply are:
Be Drug Free
Be physically and mentally fit
No prior criminal record
Have a valid driver's license
Pass a FBI fingerprint background check
Be dependable and present yourself in a Professional Manner
Have the flexibility to travel at a moments notice to anywhere domestically or internationally
Have experience working with adolescents in an "at risk" or troubled environment
If applying for the Escort services you must have polished interpersonal "people" skills
"It all went so smoothly....I must have rehearsed what I was going to say to her 100 times....and the support of the guides was such a safety net....they are a great team. You were right about waking her up too...of course. Its hard to picture the process until you have done it once. If you have a chance to redo the video I think it would helpful to have the child at least talking and expressing and a much more audible script of what the mom says. This would allay a lot more fear.
